Sustainability Sentiment Score (SSS)

The SSS is back up after what has proven to be a low quarter thus far. While the Voluntary Carbon market is still trying to climb back up after the drop it took at the end of April, the Growth Climate and Mature Climate markets seem to have regained their footing and have been climbing steadily since the beginning of May.

After carbon allowance prices had climbed to their highest in weeks, May 9th saw the Regulated Carbon markets drop off. They slid an additional 4% by opening on May 13th.

As we head into the summer months, the EU ETS enters a time where it's most sensitive to extreme weather events. This summer, among other factors, weather is predicted to be a heavy influence on carbon allowance pricing - particularly due to its anticipated variability and heatwave forecasting.
